05:30 PM - 06:00 PM CASTLE Memory Field Dedication
The Memory Field was created to raise awareness to the problem of child abuse and to the solutions offered by CASTLE's prevention programs. Each of the 198 flags in this year's field represents a child who died as a direct result of child abuse and neglect in Florida, in one year.
05:30 PM - 07:00 PM BECOME A MENTOR AND MEET YOUR MATCH
Learn the ABCs of mentoring at the monthly Youth Guidance Mentor
Orientation Dinner to be held at the Youth Guidance office, 1028 20th
Place, Vero Beach, on Monday, February 15, from 5:30-7:00pm. If you think you might like to spend just two hours a week mentoring a Youth Guidance child, be sure to attend this orientation sponsored by the Youth Guidance Mentoring & Activities Program of Indian River County. This orientation session is an ideal opportunity for prospective and current Youth Guidance mentors to get the support and information for making mentoring relationships even more productive and rewarding. Topics include the mission and goals of the program, the responsibilities and rewards of mentors, program demographics and requirements, confidentiality and the qualities of successful mentors. There is no cost for the dinner but reservations are required. For more information call the Youth Guidance office at 772-226-3092 or visit the Youth Guidance website, www.ircyouth.com.
